TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
NEPC is working in Nature and Environment Protection sector since its registration in District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu in 1992. It has worked in the sector like dairying, livestock, agriculture, environment, health, water and sanitation, health, hygiene and governance. NEPC has also worked in different cross cutting issues in the development projects like gender and social inclusion, nature interpretation, social mobilization, gender budget, gender analysis, gender audit, natural resource management, governance and community empowerment.
In agriculture sector, NEPC implemented projects on “Production and Marketing of Quality Cheese in Nepal, Production and Marketing of Fresh Vegetable in Sindhuli District, Preparation of GMP process of Raw Milk Value Chain, project development on livestock development for livelihood promotion, value chain inagriculture, Assessment of Milk Cooperative, Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Final Evaluation of Community Managed Irrigation Support Program (CMISP), Feasibility and Potentiality Study of Dairy Sector in Nepal, feasibility study of dairy plant establishment in Jhapa, institutional and Business Development of Tanahun Milk Producer's Cooperative Union, Damauli, business development of Seti Devi Milk Producer's Cooperative, Kabre. Preparation of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Guideline (PME) guideline for agriculture program and projects. study on autonomous adaptation measures of farmers to changing precipitation pattern, identify Appropriate Commercial Dairy Animal Farm Model in Different Eco- zones, study on milk processing cost in Dairy Industries in Nepal, institutionalization of Farmers to Farmers extension services in Nepal. Other assignments included study on cost of Milk Production in Nepal, and feasibility study of establishing milk powder plant in Kohalpur, , improve Agriculture Farmign System in Rautahat district, study on Assessment of Milk Production and collection in mid and Far-Western development Region and evaluation of grant distributed to the cooperatives under cooperative sector strengthening programme.
In health sector, NEPC conducted baseline studies, impact health studies, midterm evaluation and project implementation. Maternal and child health is one of the major component of World Vision International Nepal's Area Development Programme (ADP), NEPC conducted baseline study of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur Area Development Programme (ADP), Mid Term Evaluation of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Kaski ADP, final evaluation of Bhaktapur HIV project of World Vision International. With such studies NEPC gain ample experiences in maternal health issues since the conception to delivery and after delivery care. 4 ANC, 2 PNC care, institutional delivery, delivery in presence of health service providers, skilled attendants, post- delivery care, nutritional care to the delivered mothers, facilities offered by the government for better health, safe delivery and post-delivery care were duly addressed. Growth monitoring, anthropometric analysis was also done. In WASH, conducting detail Assessment of WASH schemes in Post-Earthquake, Need Assessment of WASH schemes after earthquake. Similarly, it has done two Immediate Impact Assessment of Batch I and II Water Supply Schemes of Fund Board, Health KAP impact study of Batch II WASH Schemes of Fund Board, end line study of production and marketing of quality cheese in Nepal and production and marketing of fresh vegetable in Sindhuli district. Baseline Study of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kaski and Kailali Area Development Programme of World Vision International, Baseline KAP study of Batch I and IV Water Hygiene and Sanitation Schemes (WASH) of Fund Board, Health KAP impact study of Batch II WASH Schemes of Fund Board. Hygiene and Sanitation Promoting Progarm in Doti, Out of School Children Education progarmme in Kailali, Pond Protection and income generation, in Kailali, Water Source Protection Project in Kailali, School Health Education Programme in Kailali etc. NEPC also undertook other research/studies projects including preparation of IEC/BCC materials on Arsenic Mitigation on water, employment verification study, study of basic entities in gender and social inclusion project implementation under “Support on Gender Equality and Women's Human Rights Activities for Gender Responsive Service Delivery” project. In the sector of governance, NEPC completed an assignment entitled “Support on Gender Equality and Women's Human Rights Activities for Gender Responsive Service Delivery” to GESI unit of MLD, “Preparation of VDC Social Mobilization Operational Manual” for LGCDP, Minimum Conditions and Performance Measures of Darchula, Baitadi and Bajhang DDC and output delivered was quality standard. At present NEPC is implementing Social audit of development initiative done by Kathmandu District development Committee Kathmandu and evaluation of grant distributed to the cooperatives under cooperative sector strengthening programme for NPC-UNDP. In institutional development sector, NEPC prepared strategic periodic plan of NNDSWO, Organization Development and Human Resource Development Plan of National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Internalization Poverty Monitoring and Analysis System in DADO Sindhuli.Introduction
